PartnerDock

Changelog

What's new in PartnerDock. We ship improvements to your affiliate program regularly — here's the running list.

Building in public

PartnerDock is shaped by conversations with Shopify app founders. Every release below traces back to real feedback — from migration calls, support threads, and founders telling us what their affiliate program actually needs.

  1. September 3, 2026Fixed

    No more duplicate affiliate enrollments

An affiliate could occasionally show up enrolled in the same program more than once. We now recognize a repeat affiliate and keep them as a single enrollment.

Why we fixed it: a founder spotted an affiliate listed several times for one app, which made their list confusing and risked double-counting.

Resend an affiliate's portal access in one click

You can now resend any affiliate a fresh sign-in link and code straight from their profile, so a missed welcome email is no longer a dead end.

Why we built it: an approved affiliate never received their welcome email, and there was no quick way to get them back in.

Custom commission rates on any paid plan

Setting a custom commission rate for an individual affiliate is now available on any paid plan, and the Free plan can set one custom rate to try it.

Why we built it: a founder wanted to give one affiliate a special rate and ran into a wall with no explanation.

    Change your account email yourself

You can now update your PartnerDock account email right from Settings, with a verification code and a built-in way to reverse it if something looks off.

Why we built it: founders were emailing us just to change their account email. That should be self-serve, and it should be secure.

Affiliate claims get their own tab, and you get notified

Referral claims from your affiliates now have a dedicated Claims tab with a pending count, and you get an email the moment one is submitted.

Why we built it: claims were tucked inside the Referrals page, so a pending claim could sit unseen until you happened to look, leaving the affiliate waiting.

    Faster dashboards and referral lists

Your dashboard, referrals, and payouts pages now load in a fraction of the time, especially on busier programs.

Why we built it: founders with active programs told us their pages were slow to load. We reworked how we fetch your data so it stays fast as your program grows.

    Proactive security hardening

Following recent security news in the Shopify app space, we strengthened how install tracking is authenticated, including optional signed requests.

Why we built it: when a security incident hit another Shopify affiliate platform, we chose to get ahead of it rather than wait.

One referral code across every app you promote

Affiliates who promote more than one of your apps now keep a single referral code everywhere, with app-specific links that always send merchants to the right listing.

Why we built it: founders migrating multi-app affiliate programs found their partners being handed a different code per app, which could break links those affiliates had already shared. One affiliate should mean one code.

Recover more installs from direct App Store links

When a merchant installs through a direct ?mref= link, PartnerDock now surfaces the likely affiliate as a suggestion you can confirm in one click, instead of leaving the install unattributed.

Why we built it: founders using the direct App Store link format were losing attribution on installs that never passed through a tracked link. We found a way to surface those as confirmable matches without guessing.

One login for both sides of a program

If you run your own program and also promote another app as an affiliate, you can now switch between your founder console and partner portal in one click.

Why we built it: a founder who also promotes another app as an affiliate found both roles sharing one view. The same login should serve both sides cleanly, with each keeping to its own.

Affiliates can now reach the right person

Set a program contact email so your affiliates message you directly about approvals and payouts — instead of guessing where to go.

Why we built it: an affiliate emailed us asking why their referrals weren't approved — but approvals are the founder's call, and there was no clear way for them to reach you. So we added one.

Partners keep the deal they signed up under

Commissions are now locked to the terms in place when a referral was attributed — changing your rate never rewrites a partner's past earnings.

Why we built it: a founder pointed out that editing a program's commission rate shouldn't silently change what partners already earned — the terms a partner joined under should hold.

See what affiliates tell you when they apply

The website and note someone submits when applying now show on their profile — and right where you approve them.

Why we built it: a founder asked where the website and note affiliates fill in when applying actually appear — we were capturing them, but they weren't surfaced anywhere you'd think to look.

Attribution you can trust — every referral, exactly right

Referrals are now matched by carrying the affiliate's code through the install, so the right affiliate is credited with certainty.

Why we built it: a founder noticed an install that wasn't theirs credited to an affiliate. Accurate attribution is the whole point of an affiliate program, so we rebuilt it to be exact instead of a best guess.

Set commissions by group, not one by one

Create commission groups and drop affiliates into them — different rates without editing each affiliate.

Why we built it: founders onboarding affiliates at different rates — agencies, creators, standout partners — asked for preset tiers instead of editing each affiliate's commission by hand.

A more reliable way for affiliates to sign in

Affiliates now sign in with a short code we email them, instead of a link that some inboxes broke.

Why we built it: an affiliate reached out unable to sign in — their email provider's security scanner was expiring one-time links before they could click.

    Invite your team

Bring teammates into your dashboard to manage your affiliate program together.

Why we built it: founders running a program alongside a teammate asked for a way to share access to the dashboard.

Affiliates now earn on every type of charge

Commissions now include usage-based and pay-as-you-go revenue, not just monthly subscriptions.

Why we built it: a founder with usage-based pricing asked why pay-as-you-go revenue wasn't counted toward affiliate commissions.

Add affiliates and credit stores yourself

You can now add an affiliate and manually attribute a store to them, right from your dashboard.

Why we built it: founders needed to credit affiliates for referrals that came through channels automatic tracking couldn't see.

See what your trials are worth

Referred stores on a trial now show their projected value before the first charge.

Why we built it: founders wanted to see the value in their pipeline from referred stores still inside a trial.

    Reinstalls get credited correctly

When a merchant reinstalls your app through an affiliate link, the right partner now gets the credit.

Why we built it: founders migrating existing programs saw returning merchants who reinstalled, and their affiliates weren't being credited.

Less manual approving, no partner left unpaid

Clear-cut referrals approve automatically, and anything pending settles after a fair review window.

Why we built it: founders told us manual approvals were a chore, and worried a forgotten one could leave an affiliate unpaid.

Know when a referred store leaves

Referred stores that uninstall are now marked, so your active numbers stay accurate.

Why we built it: founders wanted their active-store and recurring-revenue numbers to reflect reality, not stores that had already churned.

Your direct App Store links now track

Affiliate links that point straight to the App Store are now fully tracked.

Why we built it: founders migrating from other platforms had affiliates using direct App Store links, and needed those to keep tracking without reshares.

Message your affiliates in one place

Email your affiliates directly from the dashboard, with ready-to-use templates.

Why we built it: founders were exporting affiliate lists into other tools just to send a simple update.

One payout per partner, with receipts

Pay each partner once across all your apps, and get a numbered receipt for your books.

Why we built it: founders with several apps found paying the same partner separately for each one tedious.

    Clearer, more accurate revenue numbers

Analytics now show clean, reliable revenue and recurring-revenue figures at a glance.

Why we built it: a founder spotted a revenue figure that didn't look right, and we traced and fixed how the numbers were worked out.

A clearer setup guide for tracking

Step-by-step guidance to get accurate, real-time attribution live.

Why we built it: founders on migration calls told us getting tracking set up felt too technical.
