Mantle Affiliates didn't just give Shopify app founders a tool. It gave them a framework for thinking about partner programs.

Before Mantle, most affiliate programs for Shopify apps were held together with spreadsheets, manual PayPal transfers, and an affiliate who would occasionally email asking where their money was.

Mantle changed that. The mref link format became the standard. The affiliate portal became the expectation. The idea that you could see exactly which affiliate drove which install, track recurring commissions over months, and run a professional payout process — that became what founders expected.

That's a significant contribution to a small but important ecosystem.

We built PartnerDock because we saw what happened when founders tried to run an affiliate program without the right infrastructure. And because Mantle's shutdown created a gap that a lot of great affiliate programs were about to fall into.
